I'm looking at booking a flight from either Maui or HNL to SFO in April, using regional upgrades. All flights go through LAX or SLC. On some of the flights, it says "PS available to LAX (or SLC) with regional or global certificate" and on others it says "PS available to LAX (or SLC )with RU or GU". All of the flights I'm looking at are on 767-300s and all have both D1 and PS cabins. I'm aware of the rule that you can only be upgraded one level (Economy to PS) and that it take a 2nd certificate to upgrade all the way to D1. Can I actually get upgraded from Economy to D1 with one RU on those flights that have both PS and D1 cabins where it says D1 available with RU? And if not, why the different text allowing PS on some flights and D1 on others. All of them are wide open in April so it doesn't look like an availability issue.
