I understand the question, but there are a few differences in Europe compared to the US. The biggest difference is the stage length - our average stage length (and IAG/LHG are similar) is around 1.5 hours, compared to 3-3.5 hours in the US. This has a dramatic impact in people's willingness to buy a J fare for intra-Europe. The second advantage of the "Euro J" concept is the flexibility of the cabin size, which can be adjusted simply by moving the curtain. Given the suboptimal efficiency of having subfleets with varying J cabin sizes dedicated to different markets, which would be exacerbated by the shorter-range network/stage length/turn times that you get in Europe, not to mention the higher proportion of connection traffic (both EU>EU and intercontinental > EU) compared to the US, explains why you don't see these kinds of J cabins in Europe. The notable exceptions, to my mind, are TK and SU - both of which have much longer average stage lengths than the traditional EU legacy carriers (though admittedly SU isn't super relevant at the moment).

I also disagree with you on hot meals. Personally I think AF's medium haul catering is amongst the best in Europe, and the improved NPS scores since the intro of the current catering concept reinforces this belief. Again 100% my opinion, but this is far better than some carriers who serve 'hot food' that arrives swimming in oil. But of course I understand this is more YMMV.
