Emirates is certainly not known for its spectacular food offerings. And therefore I would not upgrade for that reason alone, not Y->J and not J->F.
Food in F is essentially the same as in J, but much better presented and there are a few (usually 2) extra options which are definitely better than J. And of course the dine on demand is very nice and there are the 'movie snacks'
The wine in F is a different story and that it why there is a special thread dedicated to that on this forum.
Even in J the wine is better than the competition.
