And so the rationale behind the generous offering of status matches from the BA(E)C to FB starts to manifest itself (close to) year on.
Getting people to buy into the AFKL offering and routes and maybe even somewhat preferring using them over other choices. And a year later they will publish and embark on a similar journey towards monetization and changing the basis or earning (at least) XPs, I assume that mileage earnings would still be based purely on paid fare.
The XP earning roulette between fare products and even AF and KLM flights seems especially well laid out and not at all confusing. But I assume that to continue paying a uniform number of XPs across the board of differing fares was too good to continue, tbh.
Maybe even the confusion on XP earnings for SK Business flights was a result of FB getting confused about the Gordian knot of planned changes within their own flights...
