Seriously considering switching to Revolut as I’m a metal customer anyway, redeeming avios reward flights is so much easier.
Yes it is a pain. The changes proposed, that subsequently never came to pass, where you got an amount of avios per year and then booked as an avios redemption would have been a big improvement. I have the card since now long after it was launched and tend use it for bookings that are 6 months or more away to reduce the possible back and forth until you eventaully find something that is approved.
