I know, and I've brought this up when the basic fare was announced. People were more mired in the loss of XP, but I was even then more concerned by the increase of XP on Flex because it was an indicator that more differentiation would likely come. This survey seems to indicate that it is definitely on the way and might make XP earning not as straightforward. The airline being flow, the fare type bought, etc. could all play a part.
