Calling in, spoke to a nice agent who explained the issue but was unwilling to manually clear the upgrade despite agreeing with me the web site was at fault; she instead wanted a $350/person add/collect. (I mean, fair, I guess, but I'm a little miffed to hear they were willing to do this for others but not in my case.) I ended up cancelling the ticket and insisting that the agent file a bug report for the IT team, which I'm sure will just sit in the queue for a while. :P
Disappointing experience, tbh. I'm not actually even sure how I would book at the higher price if I wanted to!
I'm having the EXACT problem today. I select Titanium as the u/g choice for a Round Trip, then i pick First Upgrade for the fare type on both the outbound and return.
It books Outbound (which HAS an available u/g) into O Class (thanks a lot)
It books the Return (which doesn't have an available u/g) into the more expensive and upgradeable M Class!!!
Essentially it does EXACT:LY THE OPPOSITE of want I want, and there's nothing I can do to make it different.
So, so so...sucky
