It is not only in F but also in J that champagne should be served when you board the aircraft. The other airlines I have used do it from US. Filing an annual paperwork and paying a thousand dollars to get the license is spread over hundreds of annual flights.
BTW, some airlines have the same attitude from CDG.
Dear San Gottardo, I strongly disagree with you. Premium pax board early and it often takes more than half hour before the plane starts moving Then there is taxiing, takeoff and some time before the galley operates. It is not 15-20 minutes later. It's typically 1.5 to 2 hours after boarding starts.
BTW, I remember an anecdote in AF F from JFK a long time ago. After boarding the pilot announced that due to air control we would have to wait a long time before take-off (I think like 2 hours). The crew decided to serve our F dinner on the ground. That was a great idea. Then could sleep right after takeoff.
