I was trying to change the UA segment that is currently YN but did show JN9 availability. They wanted to charge 30K points for JN but the agent said I or IN availability shouldn't be an extra charge. I've still not seen J availability for the 2nd BR segment that is currently X but the agent said to keep an eye out for I class and to call back when I see it and they can make the change then.
TBH, the BR segment is the priority since without TPE-DAD in J I don't get lounge access and would really love a shower after working all day and then flying for 15 hours.
well yeah, changing YN to JN for the UA segment will cost more. I don’t think you can assume that I/IN is a simple switch - this is a broken fare and you are mixing saver with everyday. Certainly call and discuss with an agent, in principle I/IN available would make that segment cost nothing in the context of partner I TPAC. Getting that done will almost certainly require fresh BR TPAC inventory
