Have a stay coming up, currently three rooms with breakfast included and $100 hotel credit per room, but if I change it to two rooms instead (1 double for the kids, four of them, and 1 king for us adults) I'll shave of about $600 for the two nights.
But then we "loose" free breakfast for two of the kids and $100 in hotel credit, I can live with that all things considered. But before making changes it would be great to hear from others.

Anyone have experiences from what IC Barclay charges kids for the breakfast buffet? Youngest are 7 and 10. I have stayed a lot in this hotel over the last 15 years, but not have had to pay for breakfast for kids previously due to rates/occupancy level in the rooms.

Looking at the F&B menu, the prices for food in the Parlour is Jean-Georges level, so while getting $200 or $300 FB credit is nice, paying $50+tax+mandatory tip for a salad with chicken as protein is nuts. With a drink or two you're looking nearly $100 for one adult.
I would imagine that we would get the $25 on top per room from the Amenity Fee, making the total hotel credit $250 or $375 depending on two or three rooms.

Further to this; I noticed they have two breakfast buffets, one cold and one hot with different prices. Does that mean if you go for the cold one, you can't have eggs or any hot stuff from the buffet?
Which brings me to the question; which breakfast applies in rates that have it included in the rate?

Finally; I hear they are refurbing/rebuilding the hotel? We're due to stay first week of January, and not keen on dealing with additional noise in a hotel that already suffers from the worst sound proofing in New York.

Thanks for any feedback!
