28 hours?!

(a) There is no way I’d let UA hold onto my bag for 28 hours unless I was trying to get them (well, ANA in this case) to replace it.
(b) That’s a violation of about six different clauses in the baggage policy. At 28 hours, you had a stopover, and bags are supposed to go to the next stopover point.
