I would argue that both Italy and Spain could support at least 2 more destinations (VLC and SVQ in Spain, and PSA and CAG/OLB in Italy).

The SimpleFlying article did mention that loads were decent on EWR-ARN were solid, but I guess with the current fleet constrained by size until UA gets the premium-configured A321neos and A321XLRs on campus, they felt the bird could be better used elsewhere. I suspect (hope?) that UA comes back to ARN and adds CPH in 2027.
