Hopefully you think this is interesting and not irrelevant. Maybe seven years ago I was listening to the John Batchelor show when it was still on WABC in NYC. He interviewed someone from the NY Times about the Valle de Guadalupe. I thought it was interesting because I live in San Diego and I'm familiar with the area. The main point I'm getting to is that back then they were afraid if they start building resorts in the area there won't be enough water. It's a very dry region to begin with. If the resorts take the water there won't be enough for agriculture. They won't be able to grow grapes or olives which was the reason for building the resorts in the first place.
