Next time when you book AS miles ticket for an AA flight, when you go to fill in the passenger information on the Alaska website, create a new passenger, but put your details in as the new passenger. Do not put any frequent flyer number in. Then, once it's ticketed, go to aa.com and manage your trip via the record locator provided at booking and then add your number there. Then give it a few minutes and you'll be added to the upgrade list.
