God no! But more seriously I do aim for journeys with the best possible SP/$ cost. Anything below $8/SP is now ‘good value’.
Best these days is a J sale return to SYD/MEL/BNE ex-WLG delivering 180 SP metal and 270 SP total for $1400-ish. So $7.77/SP (metal) or $5.19/SP (total). Compare this to my WLG-BNE-WLG mid-next year (P class, Works) earns just 16 SP metal for $587, so a lousy $36.68/SP (metal) or $24.45/SP (total). One really must pay close attention to the detail. However I was trumped by Mrs TK wanting a direct afternoon flight….
