This new tier (six tiers in all) project has been brewing since Greg joined the company and brought in the tribal management to deliver slicker, faster projects. He also said the result would be more customised. So I will qualify for platinum, which suits me fine but
- I still earn useless parking vouchers at airports I don't live near
- gain short haul upgrade vouchers for flights with no upgrade cabin
- have to spend more money and waste time flying via AKL to use the short haul upgrades
- have one of the worst regional lounges on the network in CHC with no announcements on its upgrade
I never use the long haul vouchers as I fly J-class for work anyway and get to fly in a big seat directly from CHC if I DON'T use Air NZ (but fly QF, CX, SQ, UA or FJ - and I have used them all). But I still get hammered with a J-class fare taking me to AKL in Y, which is usually the most expensive option.
Seems like the fundamentals remain unchanged - an additional unusable upgrade voucher is no incentive to aim higher.
