Anko's comments yesterday were interesting about this question.
He started off by saying that they weren't actively talking about it with AFKLM so long as EU approval processes were on-going.
He then made an interesting statement about Flying Blue, basically saying that Scandinavians like flying, and they like the colour blue, so basically indirectly saying that there will probably come a time when things are merged. Then he was very clear in reaffirming what he has said in other Evening of Conversations - that it would make no sense for AFKLM to buy SAS and then wipe out value for 8 million EuroBonus members. So he committed that people should be able to enjoy the same benefits they have today - including Lifetime Gold.
I will be really interested to see how that statement works out in practice. Personally, I believe that now that SAS has delivered on Lifetime Diamond, there is a more direct link to Lifetime Platinum with Flying Blue. So I hope that AFKLM introduces Lifetime Gold to Flying Blue members to make it simple rather than do some special carveout for Eurobonus members. But we'll see.
