Fwiw, I went with with ProtonMail and picked up ProtonVPN to go with it.
1 month in, I'm VERY impressed so far. So far I've not hit any issues with streaming services not working with it.

Bonus is that it has apps for Google TV / Apple TV, so I don't even have to run a travel router on them. For um...downloading offline content to watch in flight, they have dedicated P2P servers and allows port forwarding.

What has impressed me most is performance. I'm used to VPNs being a slow, necessary evil. Not anymore. It's practically full speed. Very well-polished.
