I started to speak to the person sitting there as I arrived and they said "Your new seat is 1A." I asked if I could please have their name because I couldn't see it. They asked me "What? Why?" I said well, you must work for United. "No... " Okay, so is the gate agent bringing me a new boarding pass? "Why would they?" Well you said 1A is my new seat so I need the boarding pass to ensure I'm correctly boarded on this flight.... I wouldn't want to be marked a no-show. Flight attendant came up, addressed him by name (assuming he read the name for 1A) and told him that row 1 came before row 4 so he might have gone too far into the cabin. Guy got up looking pissed and went back to 1A.
I had to read this twice to see it was an actual PASSENGER that said that and not the FA.
I think I would have just started laughing in his face. Maybe even a comment like “Nice try Bozo!”
