Thumbs down Flying Blue: Hit Silver, XP reset to 0 — is this normal, and how does it work for rea

I recently reached 100 XP in Flying Blue after some missing Delta/KLM segments were manually corrected. As soon as the correction posted, my account upgraded to Silver.

What confused me is what happened next. The moment Silver activated:
  • My XP counter reset to 0
  • I now show 5 XP (surplus rollover)
  • The tracker says:
    • “Keep Silver: 100 XP before 30 Nov 2026”
    • “Upgrade to Gold: 180 XP before 30 Nov 2026”
My question is about how the XP logic works after reaching a tier:

Is it normal that once you hit Silver, Flying Blue resets your XP to zero and starts a new qualification year?
And does the “180 XP to Gold” always mean you must earn a full 180 XP after the reset, rather than continuing from the XP you earned on the way to Silver?

In other words:
If you reach Silver for the first time, do you always begin a new 12-month cycle at 0 XP, and then need to earn all 180 XP from that point to reach Gold?

Want to confirm this is expected behavior and not an issue with how my account was updated.

Thanks to anyone who can clarify how the reset and tier progression are supposed to work.
