The fact is, you get a better 'class' of people in 'Economy' than in 'Business'. Having money (or getting someone else to pay for your First Class seat more like) is no measure of being an interesting person to chat to during a flight.
All I want from people around me is to shut up. That is a bit more likely to find in J than in Y, though there's of course no guarantee either way.
Having a bit of a distance from my fellow passengers also makes it less likely that I'll have to deal with someone who thinks I'm interested in a small talk with them.
