We stayed here 2 June to 6 June on a combination of cert/points and cash, and while our room didn't have any view to speak of, (alley way) it otherwise was fine, towels clean and replaced daily, etc. Lounge breakfast was fine. Excellent location for us. Only issue I'd say is that the check in desks are at the back so you need to ask drivers to go there instead of the Piccadilly entrance. We'd stayed there once about 20 years ago in a non-refurbished room (it was huge) which also was still acceptable.
Am here now-had the same arrival issue 2 nights ago (lesson learned!) & am using points; not sure if it was the points or the fact that I arrived at 9:30 pm, but I have ended up w/222 which is, as another poster pointed out, an accessible room in the back w/no real view out of either window. Other than the roll-in shower & limited counter space in the bathroom (do designers think that people in wheelchairs don't have toiletries or something??), the room is actually quite large & for the most part quiet. Came back this afternoon to find a fruit plate & note from 2 ladies @ the front desk. As others have said, the club is very nice-I have yet to need to get food anywhere else between breakfast, cream tea, & evening canapes. Sat in the lobby this afternoon listening to the piano player-only thing missing was a nice roaring fire to sit by!
