I had to think about it for a couple of seconds. I wanted to say yes, but I also wanted to say no. Perhaps seeing my confused look, she said, "...it really is okay if you'd rather keep your original window seat..."

That then made me feel better to say no.

The young lady across the aisle who asked me for a seat swap kept standing until the man who will sit next to her boarded. She asked the same question. And said the same "...it's okay if you would rather not..."

The man was middle-aged, and wearing a suit. Looked very formal. He then said, "...I need to work and I need to nap. Would you ask that gentleman beside your wife's seat if he would mind me leaning my head over his shoulder?..."

Obviously there is a divider in first, but we got the point. LOL.

The young woman immediately said, "...thanks for considering, and please just go ahead and take your seat..." to which the businessman said, "...honey, it's a long flight. I need my window seat."

All I can say is that at least she was polite and did not just squat on my seat or the businessman's seat without asking.
this is the most chaotic story I’ve ever read
