Currently, a temporary lounge has been made out of a mezzanine area overlooking the property's restaurant (Manhattan Grill - see images) with snacks and evening drinks served in the Manhattan Grill (I didn't stay to see what this looked like).

Interesting. We have done 60 nights this year and about 800 over 20 years. When last there they were using the restaurant for evening service with the lounge still on the 7th floor. I think it is a pain for them having it so far from the kitchens. There is a kitchen on the mezzanine plus close to the main kitchen. And the restaurant is never busy so it means the restaurant staff can help. I would say they are either going to expand the upstairs lounge (it’s way too small for the amount of people now using it) or converting to rooms and keeping it downstairs. It’s a shame as the upstairs lounge has great views. There are only about 32 seats though. And that’s reduced when one person sits at a table for 2 or 3. With Christmas coming as well I doubt they will have room in the restaurant so they are doing this. It’s damned annoying as I stay with a friend who can’t use the lift so when we are high up she is struggling up and down.
