Points allocation when using Airpoints/Airpoints Flexipay
I have a similar question but not sure if I should put this in the main forum so I will post here first.
If I purchase an international flight using Airpoints dollars, would I be able to collect points in my other FFP (in this case, TK?)
The wisdom I have seen online so far (rightly or wrongly) is that if I pay for the total cost of the booking using Airpoints (except fees and taxes), it would be treated as a reward/redemption flight and thus be ineligible to be credited to another airline.
However, if I use Airpoints Flexipay, as I am paying for a portion of the flight (even if it was the maximum amount allowable), would the flight then be regarded as a revenue flight, therefore becoming eligible for earning with another airline?
And the logic here, I would think, is that instead of a reduced earn rate (as is the case of Flexipay for Air NZ) is that TK won't be able to see that it was a "reduced fare revenue flight", and so I should get the full allocation of points?
In either of these cases, as I have used my NZ Airpoints account, my Airpoints number will be applied to the ticket.
Am I still able to change it to another FF programme before the flight (e.g. through the call centre, during check-in, etc)?
I know the Airpoints number can get "sticky" sometimes if I had used it during the booking process. Logic seems to say that I should still be able to change it, but I wanted to be sure.
