To be fair this may have been a case of Diamond benefits being extended to a second room, vs Gold and Diamond being treated the same
Actually just the hotel being empty enough to upgrade them to the same room or executive room. If a Gold gets upgraded to the Executive Floor / Rooms they enjoy all the same benefits other than the bonus point earning rate as a Diamond member.
