Palermo airport airport is a dump. Landside it is not great and it hasn't changed much since I was last here in the early 2000s. In one of the toilets there was a hole where a sink should have been, with water freely flowing out of the tap onto the floor. Airside wasn't much better and it wasn't until I went upstairs to the area near gate A11 that things finally improved. The cherry on the cake was that there was no Business lounge in Palermo airport, so Jerry and I had a coffee at one of the cafés near gate A11.
Well.... Palermo PMO airport hasn't changed much since I was last there in the year 2000
Domestic Business class seating, on the flight from Palermo PMO to Rome FCO
Approaching the head of the runway at Palermo airport
Boarding was a bit messy because a lot of ineligible people had chosen to stand in the priority boarding line. Once onboard we were welcomed by a distinguished looking flight manager, who checked everyone's boarding passes. Still and sparkling bottles of water were distributed and the service in the almost empty Business cabin (2 rows) was a bit more attentive this time. The same options of coke and juices were offered, along with the same fried corn snack as before. I had a Coke Zero and a pear juice, one cancelling the other out for sugar content!
