C1 can transfer to JL at 1:0.75. but C1 has SUBs, better multipliers and business cards that allow you to earn points much faster, which negates the poorer ratio. and you have chase for UA and hyatt, and BOA for AS
meanwhile, amex is the only one that transfers to NK, and NK is a similar FFP to JL, which further negate the issue of not 1:1 JL transfer
there is no 1 size fit all, and what combinations of cards is best for you depends on your needs. if you find yourself still in need for UA, hyatt, JL and AS points despite having all the other cards, then yeah having bilt helps and bilt points are valuable. but if you dont, then bilt is probably worth just as much as amex (or maybe less due to NK, but ultimately depends on individual). all things considered, there is no way one can affirmatively say bilt is worth more than amex
Yes, I understand that C1 has subs, which is great. I use C1 too, but that doesn't preclude one from using Bilt as well. I'd still rather transfer 1:1 from Bilt, whatever the # of points may be, and then top off from C1 at a reduced transfer rate.
Chase is great, if you're able to get in. 5/24 disqualifies quite a few people, myself included, from getting new cards. I've thought about going cold turkey to get back under the limit but I can't justify it with al the other outstanding offers out there. So, especially in these cases, having access to United and Hyatt is SPECTACULARLY valuable.
"No 1 size fits all" - I agree with this. One man's trash is another man's treasure as they say. If a person has zero desire to go to Japan, Bilt probably loses a lot of value from them. But, I still think on the average, Bilt is more valuable than AMEX.
