For CC Diamonds, they'll still get breakfasts and (the rare) space-available upgrades. For actual Diamonds, who rack up 60 nights/30 stays/120K base points, they get lounge access and higher upgrade priority.
As things stand now, for my 70 nights a year but <$18K spend, I'll basically get nothing I wouldn't get from just having the CC, which is crazy.
This is where I'm at. >$300k lifetime spend, but definitely under $18k/year. I'm treated no differently than anyone with $450/year for an Aspire card.
5% upgrade rate, no complementary late check-out, cumbersome F&B credit, nearly-zero domestic lounges.
It's an earn and burn program, but even the earning and burning is becoming more difficult.
