Yes, JAL is an example of MCC, not DCC. MCC is close enough to DCC to fit under the DCC umbrella. Furthermore, since 95%+ posts on here are DCC specific, there is no sense in creating separate threads or changing this thread's name away from DCC. Uber and Airbnb are other examples of merchants that offer MCC, as

It's been talked about before in earlier posts, but MCC can be more insidious than DCC since the currency conversion happens before the transaction enters the payment network. Therefore, the network rules and consumer protections (to the extent acquirers abide by them) would not apply for MCC like they would for DCC.
