When I contacted Air France, they confirmed that I was eligible for EU261/2004 compensation. I was flying on a business class award ticket (not sure if that matters) and they offered ₹32,820 (≈€321) per passenger as compensation.
“As stated in the regulation, the operating carrier can reduce the compensation by 50% when the delay is less than four hours at the final destination and the total distance exceeds 3,500 km.”
I agreed to the proposed amount and asked them to proceed. However, it has now been almost a month since then despite multiple follow-ups, I haven’t received any reply or acknowledgment.
Has anyone experienced similar delays with Air France when processing EU261 claims?
Do they typically take this long?
Would it be better to escalate through airhelp or skyrefund or any other third-party service at this stage?
Any insights would be appreciated!
I was in the same situation a few weeks ago. Filed in a claim, compensation proposal was sent within a few days, I immediately accepted and... nothing for weeks.
PSL suggested me to actually open a new claim mentioning the previous claim ID, just to ask that they finish the job. It did work wonders, and 48h later, compensation was received.
