Hilton stay is probably not the ONLY way to get that credit.

The “reservation with deposit to trigger credit then cnx reservation and get deposit refunded” gambit would probably work just as well for the Surpass card as it has for the Aspire card for years and Biz Plat card this year (with no reports of clawback for either card). It’s been described several times on the Aspire thread and the Hilton Resort Credit thread.

I’ve never had a Surpass card, I have had an Aspire card since its introduction. I’ve received the Aspire Resort Credit every time I was eligible, 10 times total, first 2 times for actual Resort stays, next 8 times for cancelled reservations. Also worked this year on a Biz Plat card ($50/quarter at Hilton new benefit as of December 2024) twice after Hilton Gift cards became extinct. No clawbacks ever for me for either card.
