My all-time favorite seat in F on the 737s is 2C (usually next to my wife in 2A) but I can usually only get those if I buy F or use a GGU....they are almost never available when my elite window opens. On the E175 I like 3CD if traveling with someone else or 2A/3A if traveling alone.
For someone that has severely-restricted culinary exposure (you), we have substantially similar seating preferences

. If it is a window, it will likely be Row 1 (easy to escape), or on the E175, any A seat - even when traveling not alone, we'll often take 2 A seats.
If a 737 seatmap is wide open, I'm going to chose 2C or 2D. Row 4 is my emergency - nothing is left - row. I'd rather be in 1. Being able to order a meal in advance eliminates worry about being too far back. On the other hand, sitting in row 4, some flights are already on approach before the FA can get you a beverage. (That is usually on the FA, not the flight length).
