Diamond in the UK for the last 10 years. Majority of travel in Europe. My experience has generally been good. Always get an upgrade, loungwe offerings mostly good. Only time I saw a seriously overcrowded lounge was Munich last December when there were a significant number of US visitors.
So for me, I haven't seen any reason to change.
Perhaps Hilton needs a just US diamond version and to leave what they do with Europe we'll alone.
I used to stay at the Munich Rosenheimer platz all the time. But maybe only 10 times this year. All of my stays are now at the 3 Marriott porperties around the Ostbahnhof. And I already made Ambassador with Marriott. The main reason was the lounge. It was so overcrowded there were people standing around - by the sounds of it they were mostly faux American credit card diamonds.... It was pathetic and the food offerings were vacuumed up the moment they were put out.
