Detailed review of my stay in November 2025

What is your IHG One Rewards status?
Diamond Royal Ambassador Inner Circle

Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
Yes, very pleasant stay..

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked 1 King Classic High Floor, and was upgraded to a Junior Suite high floor.

How are the rooms?
Around 52 sqm
Very elegant classicsinterior design.

Entrance with closet.

Living room with seating area and desk.

Bedroom with large and very comfortable bed.
Sockets and usb sockets next to the bed. Wireless charging alarm clock and radio

Bathroom with bathtub and separate walk-in shower.
Byredo Bal d’Afrique toiletries.

Julius Meinl espresso coffee machine. Kettle

Large television screens in both rooms with large selection international channels.
Chromecast.
Free PressReader

Very quiet.
View over the city.

How is the exec. lounge?
Very good.

The Club Lounge is rather spacious, which ensures a calm atmosphere even when the hotel is fully booked — something I really appreciate.

The breakfast is of very high quality, as is the evening service, with a good balance of hot and cold options. Very good afternoon tea as well.

What was good and what was bad?

GOOD
- Very attentive and smiling service
- Elegant design,.
- Very pleasant room.
- Convenient location: the
hotel is just three minutes walk from the MRT and within easy reach of key landmarks: the National Museum of Singapore (7 min by bike), the (superb) Asian Civilisations Museum (10 min), Raffles Hotel (5 min) and the NCO Club (8 min) — a place I particularly love.
- The hotel’s pool isn’t particularly large. It consists of a main pool and a few smaller pools on the sides for cooling off. However, it’s never very busy, which makes it a pleasant spot to relax. There’s also a bar by the pool.
- HelloRide bike station just opposite the hotel.

BAD
- Nothing

Value for $ or IHG One Rewards Points? Would you return?
Yes.

It was a pleasure to stay one last time at the InterContinental. I’m obviously disappointed to see it close, as I’ve had many enjoyable stays there.
On a previous visit, I was unexpectedly upgraded to the huge Presidential Suite — quite a surprise.

The good news is that the city has another InterContinental, which is also pleasant, though it’s a very different kind of property.

Hopefully a new one will open in the future — and perhaps even a Kimpton or a Regent, which would be a perfect fit for the city.
