I flew KUL-TPE, HKG-TPE, TPE-BKK, BKK-LHR, MUC-TPE, TPE-KUL-BKK over an array of BR fleet - Airbus A330-300s, Airbus A321s, Boeing 777-300ERs (77A/77B/77M) and Boeing 787-9s in the past month, and the free Wi-Fi looks good on paper, but most of the time, the speed is slow. I can message someone easily, but even filghtradar24 is iffy. Flighty is okay. But I can't even login using my laptop (MacBook Pro) even once. There is no reason to introduce a free WiFi plan if they don't really work. I can't believe that I am saying this. Just do a free text thing and if you want to surf and stream, you have to pay extra, until you introduce Starlink or the new version of VIASAT.

For those flying to Europe, things really slowed down significantly when you are over India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iran, Black Sea and Turkey. Things don't improve until you enter Bulgarian airspace. Same for the return, it is okay until you leave Europe and enter Black Sea, and then it is somewhat normal after you passed India/Bangladesh and flying over SE Asia/China again.
