Further to a previous post I had of frustration trying to price up a Y-W or W-J itinerary LHR-JFK and use a GUF1, I went ahead and just booked a standard W (U booking class) ticket.

On going into MMB the other day there was a good upgrade offer which I took up. The flights now show this in MMB.



Question is - has this 'upgrade' now changed the actual ticket into business class where I could now enquire about using a GUF1 to upgrade to F? Basically it's a revenue ticket, upgraded using cash.

I assumed that paid upgrades effectively changed the ticket to the new class, but reading the MMB screen I'm not so sure.
