Interesting idea. Would assume Amex views a 7 figure deposit into their savings account to be a very good indicator of liquidity and financial strength.

Don't see a ton of downside. As long as the interest rates are competitive with standard money market rates. Couldn’t hurt.

Not sure that Amex and their bank issuing the savings account talk to each other, but if savings accounts show up in the Amex app (and on your accounts on the web page), it should be a nice relationship bump.
