The email I received from Sonder is very vague on that telling me that Marriott will be in touch or to reach out to Marriott. When I called Marriott after waiting on hold for the better part of 45 minutes, I was told that I would be issued a refund within the next 30 days and that's the end of it. That seems like one hell of a dropped ball on the part of Marriott. On the other hand, they did mention that this is all new news for them and that things might change within the next few days.

Any ideas?

The terms for Ultimate Reservation Guarantee say “is relocated from the property upon arrival.” It also doesn’t apply if the property is closed (which they might be?). Therefore, it doesn’t apply in this case.
