I have Gold that way too but I still went for Diamond as my stay pattern made sense to do it. If they remove the breakfast benefit from Gold I can see some Plat holders going for the 42 nights. Without breakfast Hilton Gold would be as useless as the Marriot Gold that you also get with Amex Plat.
