The problem with Marriott's expand at all costs strategy is the cost is I have zero confidence in most Marriott affiliated properties and will only stay in the high end ones now if they also have good reviews; it's not worth taking a chance.
The vast array of reviews on this property is what gave me pause before booking -- and the apparent variability in units is the main negative to these kinds of setups, from my perspective. I tried it this trip because it was 70-80% cheaper than the other options I would have used, and I got lucky with a great unit. I definitely avoid new/random brands with family in tow, but when I'm solo... well, I'm glad I stayed here.
Might just have to get a place in Georgetown, ha.
