I am curious to see how things unfold. If Sonder stays in business I will likely stay here again even without the Marriott affiliation/points/night credit/etc., at least for my occasional 4+ night stays where I really enjoy being able to walk around Georgetown.
Word from a Sonder employee on Reddit is that they have been informed, all North American employees will be laid off effective tomorrow. So it sounds like today is in fact the last day of operations for North American Sonder properties. (Same employee said the wind-down process will be slower outside of North America in compliance with local labor laws.)
