Yes, this is what I had to do with my last upgrade. The app displayed a confirmed upgrade, but I waited and waited for a new e-ticket. After about 2 weeks I wrote to them on X and the e-ticket was then issued the next day.
I think the idea of the upgrade via the app is great, but it's a little bit misleading when it shows as 'confirmed'. It should be 'pending' in my opinion.
