My app doesn’t show any changes. Still says 6 nights needed to re-qualify.

The only way this can work is to limit CC status earning by e.g. giving 20 nights from the card and reducing the requirement in 1/2. If Hilton will keep all Diamond benis with the reduced earning rate then this will be a disaster. Likewise, if they don‘t, it will be a disaster as well since 80 nights is just not feasible for most. Maybe if they go down the IHG route and offer lounge access as a milestone benefit at 50 nights or something like that. That would cut out all the CC freebie folks while still providing a meaningful benefit to those who actually earn this status.
