I've been running into the exact same issue recently. It happened with the Radisson Blu at both Larnaca and Doha.

This was the reply I got back from Doha: "The error appears to be caused by trying to book a rate that already includes breakfast with a VIP account that has the free breakfast as a benefit. Since there is no meal plan Room Only for this Experience package rate, the error likely occurred because it was not possible to upgrade from Room Only to Buffet Breakfast."

In Doha I was trying to book a package rate because this was giving the best deal overall but in LCA I was simply trying to book a flex rate for the standard room.

Maybe double check that the rate you are trying to book doesn't specify breakfast but there's no reason why you'd be booking that if you're a VIP.
