To be honest, trying to get clarification from anyone at QR will probably piss you off more - that is unless you can find the person who helped you via Twitter who seems to have at least a little bit of common sense. The underlying fare basis is what matters, and with any pushback at the lounge entrance there should be resolved by them looking at the booking history.
Yeah I was too jumpy when I saw the new ticket class and didn't put 2+2 together that it might have been due to the rebooking rather than the changed conditions for award tickets.
But you are right of course that the fare basis rather than the ticketing class should determine included services. I am somewhat optimistic that lounge staff will be as knowledgeable, especially at contract lounges where they probably don't know QR ticket classes by heart anyway.
