If it was ticketed to WT+, then you are entitled to downgrade compensation under UK261. You are entitled to 75% of the sector cost (for which purpose the cost you paid to upgrade will be included in the base amount).
which - depending on the price - can be less than the upgrade costs. unlikely in this case, but possible.
