The other thing I learned the hard way at DOH is that for US flights, while they accept duty free liquids purchased and sealed in DOH, but not for connecting flights. So my duty free purchased and sealed in DXB had to be confiscated and ‘destroyed’. It’s one of the most ridiculous rules. They blamed US TSA which I get but very frustrating when it isn’t consistent in different places.
Good to know that one. My flight was not connecting in that case, but now I know should I ever get sealed Diet Coke. UGH! They told me it was the USA's fault and the same applied for Australia, so I realized I needed to fly an airline with Coke products if I cared that much. Live and learn! So many small things we can't know until we go!
