Not local... by Asian I mean the continent of Asia, as many Chinese and Korean guests visit nearby western Japan. The point I was making is that when I pick the fanciest hotel in say, Okayama, which is four stars, in the hundreds per night, attached to the station, hosts many weddings, and has multiple restaurants; one would assume that the property would have AC. Instead, my room was 25.5 degrees on check in, and rose to 26 when I turned on the "AC" and set it to 20 with fan on high. If there was a "No A/C, room will be 26 degrees C" warning prior to booking, sure, I would have stayed elsewhere. The issue is that they didn't warn me, which is why in the future I'm not going to gamble with the 50/50 coin toss of a civilized stay vs an uncivilized one. I'm sure I could find a cheaper hotel in Okayama, Fukuoka, Kumamoto, ect where I could enjoy the miracle of AC. Just like many room types say "No tub" to warn that it's shower only, all the room types at these fake fancy podunk hotels ought to be prefaced with "No AC", so have the information that enables me to, as you put it:
