How does Alaska Lounge access work with the Citi Exec card? Back when I had a regular AC membership I had a barcode in the AA app I could scan for entry. But that seems to be gone now that I am getting access thru the credit card. The desk agent was unable to find a membership for me. Yes, that's correct, you need the physical card. This is also outlined on the AS website:

The AS site notes AC members (non-card) and CKs can use a digital card, matching your experience.
Personally I just tossed the card in my briefcase since the only time it was ever swiped was at clubs and that bag is with me on nearly every flight. (I agree on detesting the uselessly thick metal cards. FWIW I got Chase years ago to swap the metal card with a normal plastic one. Worth asking if Citi would do that if helpful for you; since it's not in my wallet and Citi CS is hard to deal with, I never tried that with the Exec)
